Align's Two Warranty Tiers, and Why They Decide Your Model

Align splits its range by how many hours a week you can teach on it. Get this right first, because it is the line that decides whether a warranty claim is paid.

What the warranty covers, by part. Metal and aluminium frames and welded components, 10 years. Wooden frames, gear bar and footbar mechanisms, 5 years. Other non-wear components, 2 years. Ropes, straps, spring clips, handles, fuzzies, wheels, foot straps and powder coating, 1 year. Springs, 2 years or 3,000 hours. Springs must be changed on schedule or the warranty is void.

Every model here runs 8 polyurethane wheels on precision aluminium runners. The Studio models carry 5 springs (1 strong, 2 medium, 2 light); the R8-Pro and F3 carry 4, and the R8-Pro takes an optional 5th. Align does not publish a travel figure for the C2 Pro RC. Each price is a starting point.

• R8-Pro: Align's retro 8-wheel design, rebuilt to replicate classic reformer geometry, at the lowest price of any Align machine with a commercial warranty attached. 248 x 67 cm, 97.5 cm of travel, stands vertically with the optional Jump Board. The ceiling of 20 hours a week is real, so check your timetable first.
• F3 Folding: the full-size option that folds in half against a wall. 97 cm of travel, 8 polyurethane wheels, and a 120 kg / 265 lb user limit. Align rates it light commercial, so a quiet studio can teach on it.

The RC Spring Bar

Align's patented Rapid Change spring bar is adjusted with the springs still attached and moves with one hand in a single action. Align states it saves 3 to 11 additional actions every time you move the bar, and that it prevents incorrect carriage stopper positions and springs left under stress, both of which shorten spring life. Every Studio model has it, and so does the R8-Pro.

Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels and Studio Packages

Three setups cover tower and Cadillac work and buyers mix them up. A Half Cadillac adds a vertical frame at the footbar end for standing and seated spring work, and fits every Studio model. A Full Cadillac puts a four-poster canopy over the carriage and fits the C8 Pro and C2 Pro only. A standalone A2 Full Cadillac Trapeze Table is a separate apparatus. Check ceiling height before ordering any Full Cadillac.
