    Description

Align Pilates A8-Pro Pilates Reformer: 113cm of carriage travel, the longest in the Align range

A tall client runs out of track before they run out of movement. Footwork finishes early, long spine gets clipped, and the instructor quietly shortens the exercise to fit the machine rather than the person. The Align Pilates A8-Pro Pilates Reformer removes that compromise, which means the exercise finishes where the body finishes, not where the rail does. At 113cm, its carriage travel is the longest in the Align range, on the widest carriage Align builds at 67cm. If you have been asking which Pilates reformer suits tall clients, travel is the number that answers it, and this is where Align's range tops out.

The problem this machine is built around

Most studio reformers are sized for the average client, and that is usually fine. The trouble starts at the ends of the range. A 190cm athlete pushing into full extension hits the carriage stop before the leg is straight. A rehab client who needs the bed at hip height finds a machine with one fixed height and gives up. Neither is solved by cueing. Both are solved by a longer track and a deck height you choose at purchase.

Leg height is fixed at purchase. Choose it before you add to cart

The A8-Pro ships with one of three interchangeable leg sets: low 28cm, standard 42cm, or rehab 64cm. Legs set deck height and nothing else. Travel, spring load, footbar range and exercise repertoire are identical across all three. A second set fits later, but it is a separate part and a bolt-off, bolt-on job with a 75kg frame on its side. If you are unsure, take the standard 42cm: the height clients have met elsewhere, the height the Half Cadillac bundle ships at, and the easiest to resell.

Why buy the A8-Pro from RecovAthlete

We check leg height against the clients you actually teach, and confirm bracket and accessory compatibility against the machine you own, before the order goes in. On a built-to-order freight item, that conversation is worth more than anything else on this page.

The numbers that carry the argument

113cm of carriage travel is the headline, and it is a real difference rather than a rounding one: the A8-Pro gives 6.5cm more track than the C8-Pro, which is the difference between a tall client finishing footwork and running out of rail. The carriage itself is 91cm by 67cm, wider than the C-Series bed, so side lying and kneeling work stays stable on broader frames. Underneath, 8 polyurethane wheels run on precision aluminium runners, which spreads load and keeps the ride quiet as the machine ages.

Two details do more daily work than the headline figure. The patent-pending Rapid Change spring bar moves through 4 positions across a 20cm range with one hand, so changing load mid-class costs seconds instead of a reset. And the Silent system, meaning metal-free double loop handles, silent ropes and patented silent pulleys, keeps a room of machines quiet enough to teach over. Align has the A8-Pro independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013 and rates it to a 150kg user.

Room, assembly and what changes later

The frame is 264cm long and 75cm wide, at 42cm on standard legs. It does not fold or stand on end, so it needs a permanent home with walking space at the foot end and one long side. It ships freight on a pallet, part assembled, and at 264cm it will not pass through a doorway once built, so it goes together in its final room. Two people. The rope risers fold down, which is what lets a Half Cadillac frame be added later on the A-Series bracket set, at 199cm, 213cm or 235cm assembled depending on your legs.

Best for, and not ideal for

    Best for

    • Studios teaching tall clients who run out of track on a shorter machine
    • Rehab and physio rooms needing a high deck for transfers and standing work
    • Instructors who want deck height matched to the clients they actually see
    • Owners planning to add a Half Cadillac frame to the same machine later

    Not ideal for

    • Anyone who needs to clear the floor between sessions. The A8-Pro does not fold and does not stand upright
    • Tight rooms. The frame is 264cm long before you add walk-around space
    • Studios that want to change deck height often. Swapping leg sets is a workshop job, not a class-time adjustment
    • Buyers who move machines daily. It stacks, but that is a two-person lift on a 75kg frame

    Which leg height to choose

This is the only decision on the A8-Pro you cannot easily undo, so it is worth two minutes. Leg height changes how far the deck sits above the floor. What that changes in practice is how clients get on and off, where you stand to cue, and what standing work is sensible.

    Who orders the A8-Pro

    • Studio owners who have lost a tall client to a machine that did not fit them

    • Instructors buying one machine for a mixed timetable who will not compromise on range
    • Home buyers with a dedicated room and no plan to move the machine again

    Also consider

If Cadillac repertoire is already on your list, the A8-Pro with Half Cadillac arrives complete in one delivery on standard 42cm legs, with the frame, A-Series brackets, mat converter, platform extender, sitting box and gondola pole. Retrofitting later works, but it means a second freight shipment.

    Common questions

I am tall. Which Align reformer has the longest carriage?

Two different numbers get called carriage length, so it is worth separating them. For travel, meaning how far the carriage actually moves, the A8-Pro is the longest in the range at 113cm, against 106.5cm on the C8-Pro and 97cm on the F3, and Align describes it as the longest travel of any standard reformer. For the bed itself, the A8-Pro carriage is 91cm by 67cm, the widest Align builds. Travel is the figure that decides whether a tall client reaches full extension, so that is the one to buy on.

Which leg height do most studios order?

The standard 42cm set. It matches the deck height clients have met in other studios, and it is the height the A8-Pro Half Cadillac bundle ships at. The 28cm and 64cm sets are deliberate choices about how you teach rather than defaults, so take one of those only if floor-level work or clinical transfers are a real part of your timetable.

Can I change the leg height after delivery?

Yes. All three leg sets bolt to the same A8-Pro frame, and you buy the second set separately. Fitting them means tipping a 75kg machine on its side, so plan for two people and treat it as a workshop job rather than something you do between clients.

Will the A8-Pro take a Half Cadillac frame?

Yes. The stainless steel rope risers fold down so the frame sits over the machine, held by the A-Series bracket set, which is model specific and not interchangeable with the C-Series or M-Series brackets. Assembled height follows your leg choice: 199cm on low legs, 213cm on standard, 235cm on rehab. Measure to the lowest obstruction in the room, not the highest point of the ceiling.

How much room does the A8-Pro need?

The frame is 264cm long and 75cm wide. Allow clear space at the foot end and along one long side so you can cue and load springs. As a working guide we suggest about 60cm on each of those two sides, which puts the footprint at roughly 3.25m by 1.35m. That is our recommendation rather than an Align specification, and the A8-Pro does not fold or stand upright, so the space is permanent.

Is the A8-Pro rated for commercial studio use?

Yes. Align-Pilates specifies the A8-Pro as a commercial studio machine and has it independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013, with a maximum user weight of 150kg. Align publishes no hours-per-week limit on the A8-Pro, unlike the R8-Pro, so if a duty-cycle figure matters for your insurer, call and we will get it in writing from the distributor.

Assembly guides and the full manual are published by Align-Pilates, and we send the current links with your order confirmation.

Why this is the A8-Pro to buy

If every client fits inside 106.5cm of travel and the room is short, the C8-Pro is the sensible machine and we will say so on the phone. The A8-Pro earns its footprint when the people on it are tall, when a clinical deck height changes who can use the machine at all, or when you want one frame that stays right as the practice changes. The 113cm of track is the part you cannot add later.

Call 866-861-6317 between 9am and 6pm EST, Monday to Friday, and we will confirm leg height, bracket compatibility and the delivery route before you order. White glove delivery and in-room assembly are available as a paid add-on.

    • Studio owners who have lost a tall client to a machine that did not fit them
    • Physio and rehab practices working at 64cm leg height, where transfers matter more than footprint
    • Instructors buying one machine for a mixed timetable who will not compromise on range
    • Home buyers with a dedicated room and no plan to move the machine again
    • Owners building toward a Cadillac setup on a frame that already takes the tower

    Before you order

    • Choose your leg height: 28cm, 42cm or 64cm. It is fixed at purchase
    • Measure the room for a 264cm by 75cm frame, plus walk-around space on the foot end and one long side
    • Check the delivery route: doorway width, lift, stairs and turns. The machine assembles in its final room
    • If a Half Cadillac is in your plans, confirm ceiling height against the assembled figure for your leg set
    • Lead times on Align-Pilates are confirmed at order. Call and we will give you the current window before you commit

    A8-Pro, C8-Pro or F3

The C8-Pro is the aluminium studio workhorse, bought when the floor plan is tight and the budget is set. The A8-Pro is the flagship: you give up floor space and you gain 6.5cm of travel, two more footbar positions, a third leg height and a 9cm wider carriage. The F3 is the one to buy if the room has to be cleared between sessions, with the important caveat that Align does not warrant the F3 for commercial use.

    Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

    Financing Questions

    What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

    Can I pay off early?

Yes. Affirm charges no prepayment penalties. Acorn Finance and most business lenders also allow early payoff without penalty.

    Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you are buying and whether it is personal or for a business. We will point you at the right two lenders and quote freight and install as one number, which is also the number that goes on the application.

    Video

Assembly guides and the full manual are published by Align-Pilates, and we send the current links with your order confirmation.

Why this is the A8-Pro to buy

If every client fits inside 106.5cm of travel and the room is short, the C8-Pro is the sensible machine and we will say so on the phone. The A8-Pro earns its footprint when the people on it are tall, when a clinical deck height changes who can use the machine at all, or when you want one frame that stays right as the practice changes. The 113cm of track is the part you cannot add later.
