    Description
    Description

The compact studio reformer, and the leg height decision that comes with it

The Align Pilates C8-Pro Pilates Reformer is the machine most studios buy when the room is a normal room. It is 244cm long and 66cm wide, with 106.5cm of carriage travel on a 92cm by 58cm bed, built on an oversize aluminium profile frame with a wood look finish. Studio duty, independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013, rated to 150kg.

What catches buyers out is height, not length. Every Pilates reformer in the C-Series ships at a 26cm bed height as standard, which is low. That suits a home room and low ceilings, and it is well under the working height an instructor expects on a studio floor. The 42cm studio height comes from the leg extensions, which are a variant on this page rather than an afterthought.

Decide the leg height before you order, not after The standard C8-Pro sits at 26cm. That is fine on a home floor and low for teaching a full day, and the rope risers only reach their full 7 position range once the extension legs are fitted. If you want studio working height, order the With Leg Extensions variant with the machine rather than trying to add height later. Retro fitting means a second shipment and a strip down of the frame ends, and the risers and legs need to match. Call us if you are unsure which build the room needs.

Best for, and not ideal for

    Best for

    • Studios fitting several reformers into a normal room, where 244cm keeps the layout workable
    • Owners who want a wood look machine in a client facing space on a metal frame underneath
    • Home buyers who want studio duty build without studio floor space
    • Rooms where the machine has to move or stack between uses

    Not ideal for

    • Instructors who need 42cm working height but order the standard build to save on the extensions
    • Very tall clients who want the longest possible carriage travel, that is the A8-Pro
    • Anyone who needs a machine that folds, the C8-Pro does not fold
    • Studios planning a full Cadillac frame around the reformer later, check the fitting first

    Why we carry this one

The comparison worth making is the C8-Pro against the C8-S Pro. Both are studio duty, both are rated to 150kg, both use the same Rapid Change spring bar and the same 8 PU wheel carriage. Moving to the C8-S is a change of layout and finish, and not a step up in duty class. The C8-S pulls the standing platform and the rope risers inside the frame, which keeps the outline tighter and gives you nothing hanging off the sides in a crowded room. Its risers are stainless where the C8-Pro's are painted, and Align's comparison sheet lists nine riser heights on the C8-S against seven here. Carriage travel goes the other way, 106.5cm on the C8-Pro and 105cm on the C8-S. The C8-S is finished in white. Choose on the room and the look you want in front of clients, and do not expect the white machine to last longer.

If the wood look is what you are after but the room is dark or the branding is not, the C8-Pro Noir is the same machine in a black finish. Every mechanical line on the spec sheet is identical, so it is a colour decision only.

    C8-Pro, C8-S Pro or A8-Pro

Three C and A series machines share the Rapid Change spring bar and the 8 wheel carriage. What separates them is carriage travel, footbar range and how the machine looks in a client facing room.

The C8-Pro is the middle of the range and the one most studios buy. The C8-S Pro is the same working machine in white, with the rope risers moved inside the frame so they clear the walkway where an instructor stands. It gives up 1.5cm of travel and takes a Half Cadillac only, never a Full Cadillac. The A8-Pro is the flagship: 113cm of travel, a wider carriage, 6 footbar positions and three interchangeable leg heights. Take the A8-Pro if you teach tall clients or want leg height flexibility, and the C8-Pro if you want the same spring bar and wheel system on a smaller footprint.

What the specs mean for you

Specification What it means in practice
244cm x 66cm footprint Fits a normal room and lets you run two or three machines across a floor that would only take two of the longer reformers
106.5cm carriage travel Enough range for most adult clients in footwork and long stretch. Clients over six foot two will feel the end of the track sooner than on the A8-Pro
26cm standard bed height Low. Easy for a steady client to sit onto, harder on the instructor's back across a full teaching day, which is what the extension legs solve
42cm with the leg extensions Normal studio working height, and it is what the rope risers need to reach their full 7 position range
Rapid Change spring bar Spring load changes with one hand and the springs stay attached, so transitions in a class do not stall on hardware
8 PU wheels on anodised aluminium runners Quiet under load and less wheel servicing than a four wheel carriage across a commercial duty cycle
Free stands and wheels for storage With either the freestanding legs or the leg extensions fitted, the machine stands and moves on its own rather than needing to be lifted

    What ships with it

    • C8-Pro reformer on an oversize aluminium profile frame, in the build you select
    • 5 nickel plated music wire springs, two light, two medium, one strong
    • Oversize aluminium footbar, 4 lockable positions including flat, and a 3 position head rest
    • Removable, lockable shoulder rests with off centred pads for a choice of two widths
    • Pro Rope Adjusters at the head rest, both ropes adjust together
    • Removable painted rope risers outside the frame, 7 heights with the extension legs fitted
    • Height adjustable feet so the carriage runs level on an uneven floor

The three builds on this page

    • Normal. The reformer at its standard 26cm bed height. The lowest, lightest and least expensive way into the machine, and the right pick for a home room.
    • With Leg Extensions. Raises the bed to 42cm studio working height and gives the rope risers their full range. This is the studio build, and the one most teaching floors should order.
    • With Freestanding Legs. Keeps the bed at standard height and puts the machine on its own feet, so it stands and wheels for storage without going up to 42cm. The answer for a shared room where the reformer gets moved.

    Sold separately

Call 866-861-6317 between 9am and 6pm EST, Monday to Friday, if you want the build checked against your room and your teaching before ordering. White glove delivery and in room assembly are available as a paid add on.

    Delivery

The C8-Pro ships freight on a pallet and arrives partly assembled. Plan for two people to move it in and assemble it in the room where it will live, since a built reformer at 244cm and 66kg does not go through a doorway easily. Measure the route in before delivery day. Assembly guides and the full C8-Pro user guide are published by Align-Pilates and we send the links with your order confirmation.

    Common questions

Do I need the leg extensions?

If you teach on this machine for a living, yes. 26cm is low to work over for hours and the rope risers only reach their full range with the extension legs fitted. If the reformer is for your own practice at home, the standard build is fine and easier to get onto.

Can leg extensions be added later?

We would rather you ordered them with the machine. Adding them afterwards means a second shipment and taking the frame ends apart, and the riser and leg parts have to match your build. Call us before ordering parts on their own and we will check what your machine takes.

How is this different from the C8-S Pro?

Layout and finish. The C8-S moves the standing platform and rope risers inside the frame, uses stainless risers with more height positions, runs 105cm of travel against 106.5cm here, and is finished in white. Both are studio duty and both are rated to 150kg, so it is not a step up in class.

Is the Noir version any different mechanically?

No. The C8-Pro Noir is the same reformer in a black finish. Carriage, travel, spring bar, wheels and load rating are identical, so pick on how it looks in your room.

How much space does it need?

The frame is 244cm by 66cm. Add standing room at the foot end for the ropes and clearance down at least one long side for one to one work. In a group layout, set the gap between carriages before you decide how many machines the floor takes.

Financing for Recovery and Fitness Equipment

Buying for yourself, spread the cost through Affirm at checkout. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, or studio, apply with one of four business lenders and put the whole room on a single application.

RecovAthlete has no control over any financing decision. Approval is based on your creditworthiness and is solely the lender's decision.

    Personal purchase

Affirm at checkout. Rates run 0% to 36% APR based on your credit profile. Soft check to prequalify, so no impact on your score. No prepayment penalty.

    Business purchase

Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital, Acorn Finance, or KWIPPED. Apply with two of the four and compare. Financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm with your accountant.

    Financing by Equipment Category

Every page below has real prices, real monthly payment examples, and the lender comparison for that category. Pick the one you are buying.

    Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

See commercial recovery equipment financing, or call 866-861-6317 and we will price the room.

Which Lender Should You Apply With?

Lender Type Amount Speed Best for
Affirm Consumer, at checkout Order total Seconds Personal purchases. 0% to 36% APR based on credit. Soft check to prequalify.
Brickhouse Capital Direct equipment lender Up to $250K on a one-page application, $1M+ with financials ~24 hours A full room or a full floor. Credit decisions made in-house. Tied to the business, not your personal credit report.
Reliant Capital Lender and broker Up to $500K application-only, $5M with financials 2 to 4 hours Medical, aesthetic, and wellness. Deferred payment options. New or used equipment.
Acorn Finance Lending marketplace $1,000 to $100,000 60 seconds to prequalify Comparing offers. One application goes to 30 or more lenders with no impact to your score.
KWIPPED (APPROVE) Lender marketplace Minimum $1,500 equipment value 60-second application Larger commercial orders. Lenders compete, which usually returns the best APR. Businesses only.

Apply with two of the four and compare. It costs nothing and the spread between offers is often significant.

    Financing Questions

    What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

    Can I pay off early?

Yes. Affirm charges no prepayment penalties. Acorn Finance and most business lenders also allow early payoff without penalty.

    Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you are buying and whether it is personal or for a business. We will point you at the right two lenders and quote freight and install as one number, which is also the number that goes on the application.
