The Align Pilates C8-Pro Noir Pilates Reformer is the C8-Pro in a black finish, and nothing under the finish changes. Same 244cm by 66cm footprint, same 66kg, same 91.5cm by 58cm carriage, same 106.5cm of travel on 8 PU wheels, same Rapid Change spring bar, same oversize footbar, same 5 springs, same 7 riser heights, same 150kg maximum user weight. Align-Pilates publishes the two machines side by side in one table and every mechanical row reads identically.
That makes this a room decision rather than a performance decision. Most studio Pilates reformers are specified on carriage size and spring hardware, and the finish is whatever the factory ships. The Noir is for the studio or the home where the machine sits in the client's eyeline for a full hour and the space has been designed rather than furnished. The frame is the same oversize aluminium profile Align-Pilates uses across the C8-Pro family. Buy it because you want the machine to read as part of the room, and not because you expect more machine.
We already sell the standard C8-Pro, and it is the machine we put in front of most studio buyers at this level. The Noir exists because a lot of those buyers are fitting out a room where the equipment is on show from the door, and a row of matte black frames reads very differently to a row of silver ones. Align-Pilates changed no geometry, no carriage, no spring hardware and no load rating to do it.
The reason we are blunt about that is that finish variants get oversold. If someone tells you the black frame is stronger or quieter, they are guessing. What you are buying is the C8-Pro chassis and its Rapid Change spring bar in a colour that suits the room. That is a good reason to spend the money. It is the only reason.
Mechanically these are one machine. Same carriage, same 106.5cm of travel, same Rapid Change spring bar, same 150kg maximum user weight, same C-Series accessories. What changes is the finish, and what you can order on each page. The Noir ships in one build at the standard 26cm bed height. The standard C8-Pro page carries three builds, so if you want 42cm studio height or freestanding legs from the factory, order it there.

Buy the Noir when the room is client facing and the machines are part of what people see when they walk in. Buy the standard C8-Pro when you want the leg option decided at the factory, or when the machine lives in a back studio and nobody is photographing it.

The reformer ships freight on a pallet and arrives partially assembled. Plan for two people to move it into position and build it in the room where it will live, because a 244cm assembled frame does not turn through a normal doorway. Unwrap it on a clean floor and keep the packaging under the frame while you build, since the black finish picks up scuffs most easily during assembly. No. Align-Pilates lists both machines with the same dimensions, the same 66kg weight, the same carriage, the same travel, the same Rapid Change spring bar, the same 5 springs, the same oversize footbar, the same 8 PU wheels and the same 150kg maximum user weight. The finish is the whole difference.
More than the standard finish. Chalk, sweat and dust show clearly on matte black. Studios that keep a microfibre cloth on each machine and wipe the frame between clients have no problem with it. Studios that clean only at the end of the day watch the marks build up. Avoid abrasive pads on the frame.
Yes. Same geometry, same carriage height, same spring hardware, so an instructor moving down the row is teaching the same machine. If you are part way through a fleet purchase, call us and we will check the leg option and accessory codes so the machines match.
Align-Pilates lists the C8-Pro Noir as both standing and stacking, so a room that also runs mat classes can clear the floor. It does not fold. Standing a 66kg reformer up is a two person job and it needs a wall or corner to rest against.
Yes. It is independently tested to EN ISO 20957-1:2013 and rated to a 150kg maximum user weight, which is the studio duty class in the Align-Pilates range rather than the light commercial class.
Warranties are issued by Align-Pilates Equipment Ltd. and handled in North America by Kloz Inc., the exclusive distributor. They cover the original purchaser only and are not transferable. Align-Pilates will repair or replace any mechanical part that fails from a defect in materials or workmanship.
