Vertical and Dual Mode Plates by Two Brands

VibePlate lists a capacity, not a user weight. VBX does not publish a platform size, so the table shows machine footprint. All three VBX manuals say to use the machine with one person at a time.

VibePlate lists force of under 2 G at maximum. VBX lists 7.4 to 17.2 G. The motions differ, so the G figures are not a like-for-like comparison.

Medical device status. None of these plates is an FDA-cleared medical device. They are exercise equipment. Ask the manufacturer before you use one in a medically supervised setting.

What Makes a Vibration Plate Commercial Grade

No standard defines a commercial grade, professional or heavy duty vibration plate. Check four published specs instead: motor, user capacity, frame and warranty for commercial use.

• Motor. VBX plates have two motors. The 3500 is 1.5 HP duty and 600 W. The 4000 and 5000 are 2.0 HP duty and 800 W. VibePlate uses one motor and does not publish wattage.
• User capacity. VibePlate lists a 2,400 lb capacity. VBX lists 260 lb on the 3500, 400 lb on the 4000 and 500 lb on the 5000.
• Frame. VBX frames are steel. VibePlate offers steel or aluminum, depending on the model. VibePlate says the two do not differ in durability.
• Warranty for commercial use. VibePlate lists 5 years for commercial use. VBX gives a 5 year limited warranty that is not transferable. The VBX manuals do not mention commercial use.

Fact: these are the manufacturers' published numbers. Judgment: a higher capacity and a longer commercial warranty leave more margin on a busy floor.

Which Plate Fits Your Business

These matches are based on the specs in the table. They are our judgment, not a manufacturer rating.

• PT clinic: VibePlate 3048. The 30 x 48 in platform and 2,400 lb capacity cover a wide range of client sizes.
• Chiropractor: VibePlate 2424. It is 24 x 24 in and 45 lb in aluminum. VibePlate says aluminum models suit frequent moves.
• Gym: VibePlate XL. The 30 x 72 in platform is the largest listed, with a 2,400 lb capacity. Choose the VBX Wellness 5000 if you want dual mode at 500 lb.
• Studio: VibePlate Yoga Plate. The 24 x 72 in platform is 6 ft long, enough room to stretch out on.

Any of these businesses can choose dual mode instead. The VBX Wellness 4000 is rated 400 lb and the 5000 is rated 500 lb.

Space, Power and Setup

• Power. VibePlate runs on a standard 110V outlet and a 15A circuit. The VBX manuals do not list a voltage, so confirm it with us before you plan the circuit.
• Footprint. VibePlate platforms range between 24 x 24 in and 30 x 72 in. VBX footprints range between 22 x 18 in and 30 x 26 in. VBX plates stand 50 to 66 in tall.
• Machine weight. VibePlate aluminum models weigh 45 to 120 lb. Steel models weigh 100 to 250 lb. VBX plates weigh 58 lb (3500), 126 lb (4000) and 165 lb (5000). VibePlate says steel suits a fixed spot and aluminum suits frequent moves.
• Users. The VBX manuals say to use the machine with one person at a time. VibePlate publishes a capacity but no user limit.

Vertical vs Dual Mode

Vertical mode moves the platform straight up and down. All five VibePlate models work this way, at 10 to 60 Hz and 2 mm amplitude.

Dual mode combines two motions. VBX Wellness lists triangular oscillation and linear vibration, each with its own speed control. VBX lists a 10 mm base amplitude and 1 to 60 Hz. VBX plates also store programs. The 3500 and 5000 list six, three preset and three user defined. The 4000 lists nine or more, with USB.

Neither mode is a ranking. Pick the motion you want to offer, then check capacity and warranty.
