If you are comparing Peak Pilates reformers, you are likely deciding between the wood line and the metal line, or figuring out which model fits your space, budget, and how you teach. The comparison below covers all of it.

We carry the complete Peak Pilates® lineup as an authorized Gold Dealer 2025. What that means practically: if you call us at 866-861-6317 before you order, we will tell you straight which apparatus fits your situation, what order to buy in if budget is staged, and how to finance it. That is not something you get buying direct from Peak Pilates or from a dealer who only carries a few models.

Peak Pilates Wood Line vs Metal Line

Wood Line — Artistry® Series

  • Teaching the full classical Pilates repertoire
  • Cadillac and tower work alongside reformer
  • Certified Peak Pilates instructor programs
  • Classical studio or rehabilitation clinic
  • Handcrafted beechwood or oak

Metal Line — MVe®, Fit™, Casa™

  • Group classes — stacks 4–5 high for storage
  • Home use at a lower price point
  • Limited studio floor or storage space
  • Multi-unit builds (4–20 reformers)
  • Aluminum — lighter, portable

Chairs, Cadillac & Barrels

Chairs

The MVe® Chair (metal, stacks 5 high) is for group classes and athletic programming. The Wood Line chairs — HL Chair and Low Chair in single and split pedal variants — are for classical instruction and rehabilitation. Handles expand upper body work.

Classic Cadillac

Joseph Pilates' original trapeze table. Not a reformer — a standalone apparatus for the full Cadillac repertoire: push-through bar, roll-down bar, arm and leg springs, canopy work. Smaller footprint than the Premier model.

Barrels

The High Ladder Barrel is the only one in the industry with a three-step locking system — adjust between clients in seconds, no tools. Premier and Classic Spine Correctors are American-made Baltic birch, same price, different handles and stacking height.

Common Questions

What is the difference between the wood line and metal line?

The Wood Line (Artistry® series) uses handcrafted beechwood or oak built to classical Pilates dimensions. It supports the full classical repertoire including tower and Cadillac work and is the apparatus used in certified Peak Pilates programs. The Metal Line (MVe®, Fit™, Casa™) uses extruded aluminum — lighter, stackable, built for studio volume. The choice is instructional depth versus studio scalability.

Which reformer is best for home use?

The Casa™ is the dedicated home model. The Fit™ suits a home that hosts occasional clients. If you want professional quality that performs at studio level indefinitely, the MVe® Reformer and Artistry™ Reformer are used daily in certified studios worldwide.

Artistry® TWS vs Artistry® Convertible — what is the difference?

The Artistry® TWS keeps the reformer and half-Cadillac tower accessible simultaneously — no reconfiguration. The Artistry® Convertible folds the carriage to switch between reformer and full Cadillac mode, one at a time. TWS for flowing sessions; Convertible when you specifically need full Cadillac function.

Is Peak Pilates equipment suitable for beginners?

Yes. Every reformer includes adjustable spring resistance, multiple footbar positions, and a stable carriage for complete beginners. The Casa™ and Fit™ are designed for home users starting out. Professional models are equally accessible with instruction and the adjustable components mean you will not outgrow them.
