BASI Compact Reformer: A Real BASI Frame at the Entry Price

The same five-spring resistance system as the studio reformer, in a frame 14 inches shorter. The BASI Systems Compact Reformer is a beech-frame Pilates reformer for home practitioners with limited floor space and small studios fitting more machines into a tight room. The frame is 81.5" long, 23.6" wide and 12.8" high at 153 lb, and it runs 3 red, 1 yellow and 1 blue spring on a VPS riser pulley, with a 4-angle footbar and 3-angle headrest. It is the entry point into BASI equipment, and it is a real BASI apparatus rather than a lightweight home substitute.

✓ RecovAthlete is an authorized dealer for BASI Systems. All orders include factory warranty and direct manufacturer support.

    The Promise

The usual choice for a small room is a consumer reformer you outgrow inside a year, or nothing. This frame is neither. It keeps the beech construction, the aircraft-grade aluminum track and the full BASI spring range, and gives up length rather than build quality. What you buy is carriage feel that matches the studio machine, in a footprint under 8 feet long.

IMPORTANT: THIS FRAME DOES NOT UPGRADE TO A TOWER

The Compact Reformer is carriage only, and it does not convert to a Reformer with Tower or a Cadillac. The four F2 ports accept F2 accessories, but a tower is not a retrofit. If you think you will want push-through and roll-down bar work later, buy the Compact Reformer with Tower now, because adding it later means buying a second frame.

    Why Buy This From RecovAthlete

You can find a cheaper reformer. You cannot buy this one cheaper, because BASI sets the price and every authorized dealer holds it. What changes is what comes with the transaction.

    • We measure your room against both frames before you order, and tell you if the full-size reformer fits after all. It is the better long-term buy when the space allows.
    • We ask whether you will want tower work later, because this frame cannot be upgraded to it. Made to order, non-returnable.
    • Authorized dealer, so the factory warranty is valid and BASI supports the unit directly. Grey-market frames often are not covered.
    • White glove delivery is available as a paid add-on. The crew brings it into the room of your choice and removes the packaging, instead of leaving 153 lb at the curb.
    • Financing through Affirm, Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital and Acorn Finance. Multi-unit studio pricing on 866-861-6317.

The specs back that up. Five springs (3 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue) give the same resistance range as the full reformer, with nothing to add on. The VPS riser lets pulleys move to any height along the riser, so rope height is set to the client. The footbar sets to four angles and the headrest to three, covering flat footwork through standing work with neck support across positions. The frame is solid beech on an aircraft-grade aluminum track, with a 23.6" by 25.6" carriage under orthopedic padded cushion and anti-slip antibacterial hospital-grade vinyl that wipes down between clients.

Assembly is required and takes two people. No power is needed. With the riser and footbar fitted the reformer occupies 91.9" by 25.2" and stands 28.9", which is under 8 feet of length and needs no special ceiling height. At 153 lb it is light enough to move between rooms with two people, unlike the 197 lb studio frame. Four F2 System ports are built in. Springs are wear parts, replaced every 2 years or 3,000 hours of use, whichever comes first.

    Best For
    • Home practitioners with limited floor space who still want a BASI frame
    • Small studios fitting more reformers into a tight room
    • Beginners buying their first serious reformer, not a consumer machine
    • Instructors who want the BASI carriage feel without the full studio footprint
    • Rooms with no space for the full 95.3" frame
    Not Ideal For
    • Buyers who want tower or Cadillac work now or later. This frame does not upgrade
    • Studios standardising on the EPS pulley. The Compact uses the simpler VPS riser
    • Buyers who want the 3-level gear bar. The Compact runs a fixed 5-spring system
    • Anyone with room for a full frame. The full BASI Reformer has a longer track and a wider carriage

    Benefits and Features

What you get The feature behind it
Carriage feel that matches the studio machine, not an entry-level one. The same 5-spring system as the full reformer: 3 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue.
A serious reformer in a room under 8 feet long. 81.5" beech frame, occupying 91.9" by 25.2" with the riser and footbar fitted.
Set rope height to the client instead of working around a fixed riser. VPS riser pulley, adjustable along the full height of the riser.
Run flat footwork through standing work without swapping hardware. 4-angle footbar and 3-angle headrest.
Move it between rooms with two people. 153 lb, against 197.3 lb on the full studio frame.
Add F2 accessories later without replacing the frame. Four F2 System ports built in.

Who Buys the BASI Compact Reformer

    • First-time BASI buyers. The entry point into the brand, without dropping to a consumer machine.
    • Home practitioners. Serious daily practice in a spare room or a converted space.
    • Small studios. One or two more machines on a floor plan that will not take full frames.
    • Instructors teaching off-site. Light enough to move between rooms with two people.
    • Multi-unit buyers. Call 866-861-6317 for studio pricing and freight consolidation.
    BEFORE YOU ORDER

The frame ships with the risers, foot platform, 5 springs and the full handle and strap set. There is no tower and no upgrade path to one. Assembly is required. Confirm 91.9" of length plus walking clearance at both ends.

    Compact or Full-Size

The Compact keeps the BASI feel in a smaller frame. What you trade is track length, carriage width, the EPS pulley, the 3-level gear bar and the tower upgrade path. Spring count is identical. If the room allows, the full BASI Systems Reformer is the better long-term buy and we will say so on the phone. Buy the Compact when floor space is the hard constraint, or when you want a genuine BASI reformer at the entry price. Side-by-side figures are in the Comparisons tab.

    Also Consider

Why This Is the One to Buy

Buying a consumer reformer for a small room usually means buying twice: once now, once in two years when the springs feel wrong and the carriage rattles. This frame is the same beech, the same track and the same spring range the studios use. You are not buying a starter machine you will apologise for. You are buying the real thing in the size your room allows.

Financing for Recovery and Fitness Equipment

Buying for yourself, spread the cost through Affirm at checkout. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, or studio, apply with one of four business lenders and put the whole room on a single application.

RecovAthlete has no control over any financing decision. Approval is based on your creditworthiness and is solely the lender's decision.

    Personal purchase

Affirm at checkout. Rates run 0% to 36% APR based on your credit profile. Soft check to prequalify, so no impact on your score. No prepayment penalty.

    Business purchase

Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital, Acorn Finance, or KWIPPED. Apply with two of the four and compare. Financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm with your accountant.

    Financing by Equipment Category

Every page below has real prices, real monthly payment examples, and the lender comparison for that category. Pick the one you are buying.

    Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

See commercial recovery equipment financing, or call 866-861-6317 and we will price the room.

Which Lender Should You Apply With?

Lender Type Amount Speed Best for
Affirm Consumer, at checkout Order total Seconds Personal purchases. 0% to 36% APR based on credit. Soft check to prequalify.
Brickhouse Capital Direct equipment lender Up to $250K on a one-page application, $1M+ with financials ~24 hours A full room or a full floor. Credit decisions made in-house. Tied to the business, not your personal credit report.
Reliant Capital Lender and broker Up to $500K application-only, $5M with financials 2 to 4 hours Medical, aesthetic, and wellness. Deferred payment options. New or used equipment.
Acorn Finance Lending marketplace $1,000 to $100,000 60 seconds to prequalify Comparing offers. One application goes to 30 or more lenders with no impact to your score.
KWIPPED (APPROVE) Lender marketplace Minimum $1,500 equipment value 60-second application Larger commercial orders. Lenders compete, which usually returns the best APR. Businesses only.

Apply with two of the four and compare. It costs nothing and the spread between offers is often significant.

    Apply now

    Apply with Brickhouse Capital

For KWIPPED, call 866-861-6317 or email info@recovathlete.com and we will build the application around your order.

    Financing Questions

    What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

    Can I pay off early?

Yes. Affirm charges no prepayment penalties. Acorn Finance and most business lenders also allow early payoff without penalty.

    Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you are buying and whether it is personal or for a business. We will point you at the right two lenders and quote freight and install as one number, which is also the number that goes on the application.
