BASI Systems Reformer: The Wood Pilates Reformer BASI-Certified Instructors Train On, and Buy When They Open a Studio

Every client fits this machine, and every client can be progressed on it. That is what you are buying. The pulleys move to the client instead of the client working around fixed risers, and resistance steps up 3 to 4% at a time instead of a whole spring, so a post-surgical client progresses in increments small enough to hold. Tall clients finish the movement instead of running out of rail. The BASI Systems Reformer is a professional wood Pilates reformer for studios, physical therapy clinics, teacher training rooms, and home studios with a dedicated room. It is the frame BASI comprehensive training is taught on, which is why most BASI-certified instructors buy it when they open.

✓ RecovAthlete is an authorized dealer for BASI Systems. All orders include factory warranty and direct manufacturer support.

Why Buy This From RecovAthlete

You can find a cheaper reformer. You cannot buy this one cheaper, because BASI sets the price and every authorized dealer holds it. What changes is what comes with the transaction.

  • We size the frame against your actual room before you order. This reformer is made to order and non-returnable, so a wrong measurement is a write-off, not a return.
  • Authorized dealer, so the factory warranty is valid and BASI supports the unit directly. Grey-market frames often are not covered.
  • White glove delivery is available as a paid add-on. The crew brings the reformer into the room of your choice and removes the packaging, instead of leaving 197 lb at the curb.
  • Financing through Affirm, Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital and Acorn Finance.
  • Multi-unit studio pricing and consolidated freight on fleet orders. Call 866-861-6317.
  • A person answers the phone at 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, before and after delivery.

The specs back that up. Five springs (3 red, 1 yellow, 1 blue) sit on a 3-level gear bar, and the patented Enhanced Pulley System moves to any height and width on the half-tower, which changes the direction of spring pull rather than just the tension. The carriage is 27.5" by 31.2" on the longest track BASI builds, against 23" on the Balanced Body Studio and 24" on the Merrithew V2 Max. The frame is solid beech with aircraft-grade aluminum tracks, 95.3" long, 27.5" wide, 12.8" high and 197.3 lb, so it stays put during jump work and stays quiet through back-to-back 50-minute sessions.

Assembly is partial, 30 to 45 minutes with two people and no specialist tools. No power is required. Plan for a room at least 12 feet long and 10 feet wide, because with the half tower and footbar fitted the reformer occupies 107.3" by 28.5" and stands 39.4" high. It works on its own and with the F2 System, jump board and sitting box, all sold separately. Four F2 ports are built into the frame, so it converts to a Reformer with Tower or a Reformer Combo later without buying a new frame.

IMPORTANT: MEASURE BEFORE YOU ORDER

This reformer is made to order and non-returnable. With the half tower and footbar fitted it needs 107.3" of length, 28.5" of width and 39.4" of height, plus walking clearance at both ends and one side. If your room is under 12 feet long, call 866-861-6317 before ordering. The Reformer Short frame at 87.4" may be the better fit.

Best For
  • BASI-certified instructors opening a studio or building a home practice
  • Boutique studios running group classes and privates on one frame
  • PT and rehab clinics that need fine spring control
  • Tall clients and long-box work, where track length decides range of motion
  • Studios standardizing a fleet on one brand and one repertoire
Not Ideal For
  • Complete beginners with no instruction. A reformer alone will not teach the method
  • Rooms under 10 feet wide, or any space without clearance at the footbar end
  • Buyers who need a fold-away or portable reformer. This is a 197 lb studio frame
  • Buyers shopping on price alone. Aluminum-frame reformers cost less and always will

BASI Systems is the equipment division of Body Arts and Science International. This frame survives daily class loads, holds resale value, and the F2 ports keep it current as your repertoire expands.

Who Buys the BASI Pilates Reformer

  • New studio owners. They buy the reformer they trained on rather than trade down.
  • PT and rehab clinics. The gear bar gives 3 to 4% resistance steps, which matters in clinical progression.
  • Established studios. One brand, one fleet, one set of cues across every instructor.
  • Home buyers with a dedicated room. One purchase, studio-grade, no upgrade cycle.
  • Multi-unit buyers. Call 866-861-6317 for studio pricing and freight consolidation.

What This Frame Lets You Do

  • Fit the machine to the client, not the client to the machine. EPS pulleys move to any height and width on the half-tower.
  • Progress a client by a step they can actually hold. The 3-level gear bar moves resistance 3 to 4% instead of a whole spring.
  • Teach a 6'2" client the same repertoire as a 5'2" client. Longest track and widest carriage in the category.
  • Run flat footwork through jump work without swapping hardware. Footbar sets to 23, 40, 60, 75 or 90 degrees.
  • Add tower work in year three without buying a second frame. Four F2 ports built in, converts to Tower or Combo.
  • Teach eight classes a day and still hear yourself. Beech frame, aluminum tracks, hospital-grade vinyl that wipes down between clients.
BEFORE YOU ORDER

The reformer ships complete with its half tower, five springs, ropes, pulleys and six handles. The F2 System, Reformer Short frame and extension leg heights are ordered separately and none are required for the standard repertoire. Springs are wear parts: BASI requires replacement every 2 years or 3,000 hours of use, whichever comes first.

Reformer, Tower or Combo

All three share this beech frame and the EPS. This one has a half tower and the smallest footprint, the Reformer with Tower adds a full vertical tower on the same floor space, and the Reformer Combo adds full Cadillac functions but needs full ceiling clearance. This frame converts to either one later, so the choice is not permanent.

Financing for Recovery and Fitness Equipment

Buying for yourself, spread the cost through Affirm at checkout. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, or studio, apply with one of four business lenders and put the whole room on a single application.

RecovAthlete has no control over any financing decision. Approval is based on your creditworthiness and is solely the lender's decision.

Personal purchase

Affirm at checkout. Rates run 0% to 36% APR based on your credit profile. Soft check to prequalify, so no impact on your score. No prepayment penalty.

Business purchase

Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital, Acorn Finance, or KWIPPED. Apply with two of the four and compare. Financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm with your accountant.

Financing by Equipment Category

Every page below has real prices, real monthly payment examples, and the lender comparison for that category. Pick the one you are buying.

Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

See commercial recovery equipment financing, or call 866-861-6317 and we will price the room.

Which Lender Should You Apply With?

Lender Type Amount Speed Best for
Affirm Consumer, at checkout Order total Seconds Personal purchases. 0% to 36% APR based on credit. Soft check to prequalify.
Brickhouse Capital Direct equipment lender Up to $250K on a one-page application, $1M+ with financials ~24 hours A full room or a full floor. Credit decisions made in-house. Tied to the business, not your personal credit report.
Reliant Capital Lender and broker Up to $500K application-only, $5M with financials 2 to 4 hours Medical, aesthetic, and wellness. Deferred payment options. New or used equipment.
Acorn Finance Lending marketplace $1,000 to $100,000 60 seconds to prequalify Comparing offers. One application goes to 30 or more lenders with no impact to your score.
KWIPPED (APPROVE) Lender marketplace Minimum $1,500 equipment value 60-second application Larger commercial orders. Lenders compete, which usually returns the best APR. Businesses only.

Apply with two of the four and compare. It costs nothing and the spread between offers is often significant.

Financing Questions

What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

Can I pay off early?

Yes. Affirm charges no prepayment penalties. Acorn Finance and most business lenders also allow early payoff without penalty.

Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you are buying and whether it is personal or for a business. We will point you at the right two lenders and quote freight and install as one number, which is also the number that goes on the application.

Also Consider
