    Description

SaunaLife Model S1NC Package: 1-Person Cold Plunge and Hot Immersion Tub With Chiller Included

The SaunaLife Model S1NC Package is a 1-person cold plunge tub with a chiller included: the 124 gallon Model S1N natural Thermo-Spruce immersion tub paired with the FDC-1A chiller and heater unit, holding water anywhere from 32.5°F to 108°F. A cold plunge with a chiller is a cold water immersion tub with a refrigeration unit that cools and filters the water continuously, so it sits at a set temperature instead of warming up like an ice bath. That 32.5°F to 108°F range covers both sides of contrast therapy from the same tub: cold water for recovery after training, warm water for stiff muscles. The FDC-1A plugs into a standard 110 to 120V outlet with a GFCI cord, runs an ozone generator and external filter to keep water clear, and is controlled from an on-unit LCD touchscreen or an iOS and Android app.

The tub is sized for one bather at a time. It arrives fully assembled with a dark grey contoured fiberglass insert, natural Thermo-Spruce exterior, foundation beams, and round deluxe stairs. Typical use is 2 to 5 minutes in cold water, or three rounds alternating cold and hot after a sauna session. Total footprint is 40 inches across, which fits a garage corner, a patio, or a spare bathroom.

Model S1NC Package at a glance
    • What is in the box: Model S1N tub plus FDC-1A chiller and heater unit
    • Temperature range: 32.5°F to 108°F, cold plunge and hot soak from one unit
    • Capacity: 1 bather, 124 gallons
    • Tub size: 40 in diameter x 41.3 in high, 124 lbs empty, 1,158 lbs filled
    • Chiller: 2.81 kW cooling, 3.38 kW heating, R410A refrigerant, 103 lbs
    • Power: 110 to 120V, 60Hz, GFCI cord and plug, standard outlet
    • Water care: ozone generator plus external 5 in filter assembly
    • Control: on-unit LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi app, LED remote

Who is the S1NC Package for?

This is a single-person recovery station for people who plunge often enough that hauling ice stops making sense. Athletes and lifters running cold exposure several times a week are the core buyers, along with sauna owners who want the cold side of contrast therapy next to the hot room, and anyone using cold water for inflammation and mood who wants the water ready without prep. It suits a home gym, garage, basement, or covered patio.

Do not buy the S1NC if two people need to plunge together, if you want a tub that needs no electricity at all, or if the only available outlet is not on a GFCI-protected circuit. Two-bather households should look at the 2-person Model S2N instead. Buyers who plunge once a week and are fine with ice can buy the Model S1N tub on its own and add a chiller later.

    What does the install need?

Filled weight is 1,158 lbs, so the tub needs a level floor or pad rated for that load. A concrete garage slab, patio, or paver base is fine. Second-floor decks and raised timber floors need checking. The chiller sits separately, connects with the supplied hoses through 3/4 inch NPT fittings, and needs clear air space around it to exhaust heat. Drainage is a 1 inch outlet, so plan where the water goes on a change.

Important: check these before you order
    • Outdoor installs need a weatherproof cover over the chiller. The unit is not built for direct exposure to rain, snow, or sun.
    • Chiller ambient operating range: 59°F to 109°F for cooling, 59°F to 95°F for heating. Below 59°F ambient the unit falls outside its rated range, which matters for unheated garages and winter patios.
    • Standard 110 to 120V outlet on a GFCI-protected circuit.
    • Level floor or pad rated for 1,158 lbs filled.
    • Clear air space around the chiller so it can exhaust heat.
    • One bather at a time. This is not a two-person plunge.
    • Delivery is curbside on a pallet, tub and chiller crated separately.
    Best for
    • Frequent plungers: three or more sessions a week, no ice runs
    • Sauna owners: the cold side of a contrast protocol
    • Home gyms and garages: 40 in footprint, standard outlet
    • Year-round users: heater mode turns it into a warm soak in winter
    • Single users: one person, one tub, no shared session scheduling
    Not ideal for
    • Two people plunging at the same time
    • Off-grid sites with no power for the chiller
    • Uncovered outdoor spots where the chiller sits exposed
    • Unheated spaces that drop below 59°F ambient in winter
    • Anyone wanting jets, lighting, or a full hot tub experience
    • Floors not rated for 1,158 lbs

Chiller package or ice: which should you buy?

Decision factor S1NC Package with chiller Tub filled with ice
Prep per session None. Water is already at temperature Buy, haul, and dump ice every time
Temperature control Set a number between 32.5°F and 108°F Whatever the ice gives you, drifting warmer
Consistency Same temperature every session, repeatable protocol Varies session to session
Hot mode Yes, up to 108°F for contrast or winter soaking No
Water hygiene Ozone generator plus external filter, circulating pump Manual treatment, drain and refill more often
Running cost Electricity on a standard outlet Ongoing ice purchases, which add up fast at 3 sessions a week
Power needed 110 to 120V GFCI outlet None

How does the FDC-1A chiller and heater work?

    • Cooling and heating in one unit. 2.81 kW cooling and 3.38 kW heating on R410A refrigerant, so the same box drops water to 32.5°F or lifts it to 108°F.
    • Circulating pump. An 88W DC motor moves water through the hoses continuously, which is what holds a set temperature rather than letting it drift.
    • Ozone disinfection. A built-in ozone generator treats the water as it circulates, cutting how much chemical dosing the tub needs.
    • External filter assembly. Two 5 inch filters with wrenches and a secondary screen, mounted outside the tub so changes do not mean draining.
    • Two control paths. On-unit LCD touchscreen, plus an iOS and Android app over Wi-Fi, plus an LED remote. Set the temperature before you leave the gym.
    • Standard outlet. Plug and play on 110 to 120V with a GFCI cord. No dedicated 240V circuit, no electrician for the power side.
    • Quiet operation. SaunaLife rates the design as noise-minimised, which matters when the unit sits in a garage next to a bedroom wall.
    Why RecovAthlete carries this

Most single-person plunges are either a plastic barrel with no chiller or a chiller unit sold separately at a surprise second price. The S1NC ships as one package: European-built Thermo-Spruce tub, fiberglass insert, stairs, and a matched chiller and heater unit that also covers the hot side. We stock the full SaunaLife range, so a SaunaLife barrel sauna and plunge pairing ships from one supplier on one order. New to cold exposure, start with our cold plunge FAQ.

Recovery specialists on the phone at 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, Monday to Friday. Financing is available on high-ticket recovery equipment through Affirm and our equipment finance partners. Ask for a payment estimate before you order.

    What does delivery involve?

The package ships by freight in two crates. The tub travels on a wooden pallet encased in wood at 265 lbs and 47.8 x 46 x 48.1 inches. The chiller ships separately at 125 lbs and 25.5 x 21.5 x 31.5 inches. Delivery is by appointment and curbside only. The driver lowers the crates to ground level and stops there, so plan help for the final move. Freight is quoted separately and is not included in the product price. We usually call before shipment to confirm access and anything that could add delivery cost. Questions on access or timing: 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, Monday to Friday.

    Model S1NC Package questions

    How cold does it get?

Down to 32.5°F, which is just above freezing. Most users run cold sessions between 45°F and 55°F. The chiller holds whatever number you set rather than drifting warmer the way an ice fill does.

How long does it take to chill 124 gallons?

That depends on starting water temperature and the air temperature around the chiller, so SaunaLife publishes cooling capacity, 2.81 kW, rather than a fixed time. Once the tub reaches your set point the unit maintains it, so the initial chill-down is a one-time wait, not a per-session one. Call 866-861-6317 and we will walk through your setup.

Can it be used as a hot tub?

It heats to 108°F, so it works as a single-person hot soak and as the hot half of a contrast protocol. It is not a jetted hot tub. There are no jets, no lighting, and no lounge seating.

    Can it go outside?

The tub is built for outdoor use. The chiller is not. On any outdoor install the chiller must sit under a weatherproof cover, protected from rain, snow, and direct sun. Also check the ambient range: cooling is rated from 59°F to 109°F, heating from 59°F to 95°F.

Will it work in an unheated garage in winter?

Not inside its rated range. The chiller is specified for ambient temperatures of 59°F and above. A garage that drops to 40°F in January sits below that. If your space gets cold, plan on heating the room or siting the chiller somewhere warmer.

    What electrical work is needed?

None beyond a standard 110 to 120V outlet on a GFCI-protected circuit. The chiller ships with a GFCI cord and plug. No 240V circuit and no hard wiring.

How often do you change the water?

Less often than an ice tub. The ozone generator treats water as it circulates and the external filter catches debris, so water stays usable for weeks with periodic testing and dosing. Change intervals depend on how many sessions and how many users. Filters are replaced on their own schedule.

    Is it loud?

SaunaLife rates the FDC-1A as noise-minimised, and the circulating pump is an 88W DC motor rather than a large AC pump. It still runs a compressor, so treat it like a small outdoor air conditioning unit when choosing a spot near a bedroom wall.

    Can two people use it?

One at a time. Interior is 34.4 inches across, sized for a single bather. Two-person households either take turns or choose the 2-person Model S2N, which does not include a chiller.

How long should a cold plunge session be?

Most people work in the 2 to 5 minute range per session, building tolerance over weeks rather than pushing time on day one. For contrast therapy, three rounds alternating cold and hot is a common pattern. If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, or take medication affecting circulation, clear cold water immersion with your doctor first.

    How much assembly is involved?

The tub arrives assembled. You set it on the prepared base and beams, fit the stairs, connect the two hoses to the 3/4 inch NPT ports, mount the external filter assembly, and plug the chiller in. Both manuals are linked above.

Should I buy the package or the tub on its own?

Buy the package if you plunge more than twice a week or want a repeatable temperature. Buy the tub on its own if you plunge occasionally, are fine hauling ice, and would rather add a chiller later. The tub-only version uses the same 3/4 inch NPT chiller ports, so it stays upgradeable.

    • Capacity: 1 bather, 124 gallons
    • Tub size: 40 in diameter x 41.3 in high, 124 lbs empty, 1,158 lbs filled
    • Chiller: 2.81 kW cooling, 3.38 kW heating, R410A refrigerant, 103 lbs

How does the FDC-1A chiller and heater work?

    • Cooling and heating in one unit. 2.81 kW cooling and 3.38 kW heating on R410A refrigerant, so the same box drops water to 32.5°F or lifts it to 108°F.
    • Circulating pump. An 88W DC motor moves water through the hoses continuously, which is what holds a set temperature rather than letting it drift.
    • Ozone disinfection. A built-in ozone generator treats the water as it circulates, cutting how much chemical dosing the tub needs.

Financing for Recovery and Fitness Equipment

Buying for yourself, spread the cost through Affirm at checkout. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, or studio, apply with one of four business lenders and put the whole room on a single application.

RecovAthlete has no control over any financing decision. Approval is based on your creditworthiness and is solely the lender's decision.

    Personal purchase

Affirm at checkout. Rates run 0% to 36% APR based on your credit profile. Soft check to prequalify, so no impact on your score. No prepayment penalty.

    Business purchase

Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital, Acorn Finance, or KWIPPED. Apply with two of the four and compare. Financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm with your accountant.

    Financing by Equipment Category

Every page below has real prices, real monthly payment examples, and the lender comparison for that category. Pick the one you are buying.

    Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

See commercial recovery equipment financing, or call 866-861-6317 and we will price the room.

Which Lender Should You Apply With?

Lender Type Amount Speed Best for
Affirm Consumer, at checkout Order total Seconds Personal purchases. 0% to 36% APR based on credit. Soft check to prequalify.
Brickhouse Capital Direct equipment lender Up to $250K on a one-page application, $1M+ with financials ~24 hours A full room or a full floor. Credit decisions made in-house. Tied to the business, not your personal credit report.
Reliant Capital Lender and broker Up to $500K application-only, $5M with financials 2 to 4 hours Medical, aesthetic, and wellness. Deferred payment options. New or used equipment.
Acorn Finance Lending marketplace $1,000 to $100,000 60 seconds to prequalify Comparing offers. One application goes to 30 or more lenders with no impact to your score.
KWIPPED (APPROVE) Lender marketplace Minimum $1,500 equipment value 60-second application Larger commercial orders. Lenders compete, which usually returns the best APR. Businesses only.

Apply with two of the four and compare. It costs nothing and the spread between offers is often significant.

    Financing Questions

    What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

    Can I pay off early?
