Which Mr. Steam control do you actually need, and what is the difference between them all?

A steam shower control is the brain of the system. The generator makes the steam, but the control is what you touch: it sets temperature, runs the session timer, and on the higher models runs aroma, lighting, and audio. Mr. Steam sells these as control packages that pair a control interface with a steamhead, and the names get confusing fast.

Here is the map. The control family (iTempoPlus, AirTempo, iSteam) sets how you interact with it. The package tier (Butler, XButler, XDream) sets how much it does. We carry the full Mr. Steam control range.

Start with the package tier

Within each tier you also choose the steamhead: an Aroma Glass or Aroma Designer head that lets you add essential oils, or a Linear head for a modern flush-mounted look. The package name tells you both, so "XButler Linear" is the XButler control with the linear steamhead.

The control interface

The physical thing you touch varies by package. The iTempoPlus is a wall-mounted digital control. The iSteamX adds smart and app control, which is what the X packages use. If starting the steam from your phone before you get in matters to you, you want an X package. If a simple wall control is enough, the standard Butler line is cheaper and does the core job perfectly.

What we will tell you not to buy

Do not buy a control that does not match your generator. Mr. Steam controls pair with specific generator series, and a mismatch means it will not work. This is the one thing to confirm before ordering, and it is exactly what we will check for you.

Do not pay up for the XDream aroma-light-audio package if you only want steam. It is a lovely system, but if you are not going to use the chromatherapy and audio, the Butler gives you the same quality steam control for less.

And if you have not bought a generator yet, do not start here. Choose the generator sized to your steam room first, then match the control to it. The control follows the generator, not the other way around.
