    Description
    Description

Merrithew At Home SPX Reformer Package with Vertical Stand: studio carriage mechanics in a machine that stores against a wall

The Merrithew At Home SPX Reformer Package with Vertical Stand is a full-length Pilates Pilates reformer built for home use, with a Vertical Stand so the machine stands upright when you are done. The carriage runs on C-channel aluminum rails using Merrithew's patented rolling mechanism, and the package ships with a Reformer Box with Footstrap, a Padded Platform Extender, a 2 lb Metal Roll-Up Pole, Double Loop Straps and a five-spring Traditional Springs Package. It supports hundreds of exercises from beginner through advanced.

This machine is for people training at home who want the same carriage feel as a studio reformer without a permanent studio footprint. It is used on its own, with the included box, pole and platform extender, and with optional Jumpboard and Rebounder accessories. Sessions typically run 30 to 60 minutes, and the machine is used as the main piece of a workout rather than a warm-up tool. It is used in bedrooms, spare rooms, basements, garage gyms and small apartments, plus private one-on-one training spaces.

The problem it solves is space. A standard studio reformer stays flat on the floor and occupies roughly 8 feet of floor permanently. This one folds up onto the Vertical Stand and stores in a corner. Compared with folding home reformers built on lighter frames, the At Home SPX keeps a full-size 97.5 in frame, a 22 in by 38.5 in carriage and studio-grade springs, so the ride does not feel like a compromise. Compared with the SPX Max Reformer, this model does not accept a Vertical Frame upgrade and cannot be stacked.

Capacity and fit matter before you buy. Weight capacity is 250 lbs. Merrithew specifies this machine for users between 60 in and 74 in in height. Assembly is minimal and no electrical or plumbing work is needed. Ceiling height is the real install constraint: 98.5 in to perform standing exercises on the platform with hands overhead, and 97.5 in to store the reformer upright on the stand. The outcome is a machine that builds core strength, endurance and flexibility, then disappears into the wall between sessions.

RecovAthlete is an authorized Merrithew dealer. Every unit ships new in factory packaging with full manufacturer warranty support.

Important: check these before you order
    • You need 98.5 in of ceiling clearance for standing platform work and 97.5 in to store the reformer upright.
    • The shoulder rests are fixed and cannot be removed.
    • This model cannot be stacked and cannot be upgraded with a Vertical Frame. If either matters, look at the SPX Max line instead.
    • Merrithew specifies user height between 60 in and 74 in and a 250 lb weight capacity.

    Why RecovAthlete carries this

Most home reformers cut the frame down to save space. Merrithew kept the full 97.5 in frame and the patented rolling carriage, then solved storage with a stand instead. That is the version of the trade-off our buyers keep choosing, because the machine still feels right on day 400, not just on day 4. Freight arrives palletised and our team walks you through inspection before you sign.

    Who buys this

    • Studio members who train two or three extra sessions a week at home
    • Instructors building a small private client practice
    • Buyers moving up from a mat practice who want spring resistance
    • Households sharing one training space with other activities
    • People rebuilding strength gradually who want controlled, low-impact loading

    • Runs the carriage over rigid C-channel aluminum rails on a patented rolling mechanism for a smooth, friction-free ride
    • Adjusts to the user through 6 carriage stopper positions, 4 footbar positions, 3 gearbar positions and 3 headrest positions
    • Regulates hip and knee flexion through a four-position footbar that drops into cradles
    • Changes spring tension quickly through a gearbar that slots into three positions
    • Handles vigorous work with springs built to withstand Jumpboard and Rebounder use
    • Stores upright on the Vertical Stand and rolls into position on easy-roll wheels

    Shipping and delivery

This reformer ships by freight, palletised, direct from the manufacturer. Standard freight is curbside delivery, so plan for a second person to help move the crate inside. White glove delivery options are available as a paid add-on, quoted per address. Inspect the crate before you sign the delivery receipt and note any damage on the paperwork, that is what protects your freight claim. Call 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST Monday to Friday, for current lead times and a delivery quote to your address.

    Questions buyers ask

How much ceiling height do I actually need?

97.5 in to store the reformer upright on the Vertical Stand, and 98.5 in to perform standing exercises on the platform with your hands above your head, based on a 5 ft 8 in user. Measure to the lowest point in the room, including light fixtures and ceiling fans.

How much floor space does it need in use?

The frame is 97.5 in long with the footbar down and 26 in wide. Add clear space at the footbar end and at least one side for straps, box work and getting on and off.

Can I upgrade it later with a tower or Vertical Frame?

No. This model cannot be stacked and cannot be upgraded to add a Vertical Frame. If a tower upgrade is part of your plan, start with the SPX Max Reformer with Vertical Stand Bundle instead.

    Are the shoulder rests removable?

No. The shoulder rests on this model are fixed pommel-style rests and cannot be removed.

Who is the height and weight range for?

Merrithew specifies users between 60 in and 74 in in height, with a 250 lb weight capacity. Outside that range, the fit and the loading are not what the machine was designed for.

    How much assembly is involved?

Minimal assembly. The machine arrives largely built, and the owner's manual and Easy Start Poster ship in the box. Most buyers are training on it the same day it arrives.

Is it quiet enough for an apartment?

The carriage runs on a rolling mechanism over aluminum rails, and the package includes 5 neoprene spring covers that reduce spring noise during use. A mat under the frame helps further on hard floors.

What is the difference between this and the Elevated At Home SPX?

Carriage height. This model sits 9.5 in from the floor, standard reformer height. The Elevated At Home SPX Reformer Package is built at 16.25 in, which makes getting on and off easier for users with mobility limitations.

Financing for Recovery and Fitness Equipment

Buying for yourself, spread the cost through Affirm at checkout. Buying for a gym, clinic, spa, or studio, apply with one of four business lenders and put the whole room on a single application.

RecovAthlete has no control over any financing decision. Approval is based on your creditworthiness and is solely the lender's decision.

    Personal purchase

Affirm at checkout. Rates run 0% to 36% APR based on your credit profile. Soft check to prequalify, so no impact on your score. No prepayment penalty.

    Business purchase

Brickhouse Capital, Reliant Capital, Acorn Finance, or KWIPPED. Apply with two of the four and compare. Financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm with your accountant.

    Financing by Equipment Category

Every page below has real prices, real monthly payment examples, and the lender comparison for that category. Pick the one you are buying.

    Building a Recovery Room?

Most business buyers are not buying one machine. They are building a room. Sauna, cold plunge, red light, vibration, hyperbaric, cryotherapy, and halotherapy all finance on the same paper through the same four lenders, and RecovAthlete quotes every category on one purchase order.

That means one freight schedule, one install window, and one financing application instead of six. It also gets you a better rate, because a bigger number on one application beats six small ones with six hard inquiries.

See commercial recovery equipment financing, or call 866-861-6317 and we will price the room.

Which Lender Should You Apply With?

Lender Type Amount Speed Best for
Affirm Consumer, at checkout Order total Seconds Personal purchases. 0% to 36% APR based on credit. Soft check to prequalify.
Brickhouse Capital Direct equipment lender Up to $250K on a one-page application, $1M+ with financials ~24 hours A full room or a full floor. Credit decisions made in-house. Tied to the business, not your personal credit report.
Reliant Capital Lender and broker Up to $500K application-only, $5M with financials 2 to 4 hours Medical, aesthetic, and wellness. Deferred payment options. New or used equipment.
Acorn Finance Lending marketplace $1,000 to $100,000 60 seconds to prequalify Comparing offers. One application goes to 30 or more lenders with no impact to your score.
KWIPPED (APPROVE) Lender marketplace Minimum $1,500 equipment value 60-second application Larger commercial orders. Lenders compete, which usually returns the best APR. Businesses only.

Apply with two of the four and compare. It costs nothing and the spread between offers is often significant.

    Financing Questions

    What are Affirm's rates?

Pay in 4 splits the purchase into four interest-free payments charged every two weeks. Monthly installments spread the cost over a longer term, with rates from 0% to 36% APR depending on your credit profile. You see the exact terms before you agree to anything. No origination fees, no prepayment penalty, no late fees.

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Prequalification does not. Affirm and Acorn Finance both run a soft check to show you offers, which has no impact on your score. Proceeding with a monthly installment plan or a business loan may involve a hard inquiry. That is why it pays to prequalify with more than one lender first and only proceed with the best offer.

Can I finance equipment for a business?

Yes, and for most business buyers it is the better route. Brickhouse funds up to $250,000 on a one-page application with no financial statements. Reliant approves in 2 to 4 hours. Business financing is usually tied to the business rather than your personal credit report, and financed equipment can qualify for a Section 179 deduction. Confirm the tax position with your accountant.

Should I finance each machine separately?

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake. Separate applications mean separate hard inquiries, separate payments, and a worse rate on each, because every individual ticket is small. Get one quote from RecovAthlete covering everything you are buying, including freight, and put that single number on one application.

Does Section 179 apply to financed equipment?

Financed equipment can qualify. Section 179 lets US businesses deduct the cost of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, and financing the purchase does not by itself disqualify it. The equipment must be in service, not merely ordered, within the tax year. Annual limits and eligibility rules are set by the IRS and change year to year, so consult your accountant.

Can freight and installation be financed?

Freight, yes. On Affirm it is part of the order total at checkout. On business financing, put freight on the RecovAthlete quote and the whole quote amount goes on the application. Installation and room construction are harder, because some equipment lenders will not fund non-equipment costs. Ask the lender before you sign.

    Can I pay off early?

Yes. Affirm charges no prepayment penalties. Acorn Finance and most business lenders also allow early payoff without penalty.

    Not sure which option fits?

Tell us what you are buying and whether it is personal or for a business. We will point you at the right two lenders and quote freight and install as one number, which is also the number that goes on the application.

Best for and not ideal for

    Best for
    • Home users who need the floor back after every session
    • Apartments, spare rooms and shared living spaces
    • Studio clients who want to keep practising between classes
    • Instructors teaching one-on-one out of a home space
    • Anyone who wants full-length carriage travel, not a compact frame
    Not ideal for
    • Users above 250 lbs or outside the 60 in to 74 in height range
    • Rooms with ceilings under 97.5 in
    • Studios running back-to-back group classes on stacked reformers
    • Buyers who want removable shoulder rests
    • Anyone planning a later Vertical Frame or tower upgrade

    What it does

    Note on Wood Materials

Crafted with pride, precision, and the highest quality components, Merrithew equipment is sleek and versatile. Our wooden products are fashioned with rich and durable wood, showcasing its natural beauty. This may include color variations and knots, which add a unique, one-of-a-kind personality and character to your equipment. Wood materials were once trees, breathing organisms that worked to survive. Every warp, knot, or mineral streak is a testament to a tree’s life, and the years it lived through. Not every piece of Baltic Birch will have patches or streaks, but that doesn’t make it better or worse than the parts that do. The patches do not affect the integrity or quality; the wood stands up to our high-quality standards and is natural and unique. Merrithew will not replace products that may have oval patches, knots, or biscuits as they fall within our quality standards.
