    Description

Harvia Legend 150 SL: the wood stove you feed from the next room

Loading a sauna stove means opening the door and letting the room's heat out, and carrying wood across a bench you have just cleaned. The Legend 150 SL solves both by moving the firebox door through the wall. The stove sits inside the sauna, the fire chamber extension pushes through a masonry opening, and you feed it from the changing room or from outside. It is a black steel wood burning sauna stove made in Finland, part number WK150LDSL, holding 264 lbs of stone and rated for rooms of 212 to 459 cubic feet.

What the SL configuration actually needs

The exterior feed is a build decision, not an accessory. Harvia requires an opening in a concrete or brick wall, at least 220 mm wide, at least 390 mm up from the floor, and through a wall no more than 150 mm thick. If your sauna wall is timber framed, or thicker than 150 mm, this stove cannot be installed as intended. Confirm the wall before anything else, because it is the single specification that rules the Legend 150 SL in or out.

If you want the same stove fed from inside the room, the standard Legend 150 is the version to ask us about.

BEFORE YOU ORDER: CLEARANCES, FLOOR AND LISTING

Safety distances to combustible material are 19.69 inches at the front, 9.84 inches at the rear, 7.87 inches at each side, and 39.4 inches from the top of the stove to the ceiling. These are specific to the Legend and are not the same as any other Harvia stove, so do not reuse a figure from a different model. The floor must be non-combustible. A concrete slab of 60 mm or more takes the stove directly; a tiled or timber floor needs the WL100 protective bedding, because tile adhesive and grout are not heat resistant. An unshielded smoke pipe needs 19.69 inches to combustibles, or 9.84 inches with the WZ020130 radiation cover. Harvia also warns that the published distances only hold when the stones are stacked to its instructions. No North American listing is published for this stove, so check what your local authority requires before you commit.

    Benefits and Features

    • Exterior feed, so the fire is loaded without opening the sauna room
    • 264 lbs of stone capacity for steam that holds through a long session
    • Glass door with a reversible hinge, so it opens left or right to suit the room
    • Adjustable feet with a 30 mm range for an uneven floor
    • Takes a 35 cm log, so ordinary firewood fits without cutting down
    • Top or rear flue connection at 115 mm, chimney class T600
    • Tested to EN 15821:2010, made in Muurame, Finland

    BEST FOR

    • Masonry-walled saunas where the feed can pass through the wall
    • Rooms of 212 to 459 cubic feet
    • Owners who want to load wood without entering the hot room
    • Off-grid cabins with no electrical supply to spare

    NOT IDEAL FOR

    • Timber-framed walls. The feed tunnel needs concrete or brick
    • Walls thicker than 150 mm. The extension will not reach
    • Rooms that cannot give 19.69 inches of front clearance
    • Jurisdictions that require a North American listing on solid fuel

    Chimney and flue

The connection opening is 115 mm and the flue pipe needs a minimum internal diameter of 110 mm, rated to chimney temperature class T600. The rear opening centres 560 mm from the floor. An upper connection needs a 45 or 90 degree angled pipe, set 180 mm from the stove. Harvia's datasheet lists the top connection only while the installation manual gives full procedures for both top and rear, so confirm with us which your room needs before you order pipe. Where the stove passes through a wall to a steel chimney, that non-combustible wall must run all the way to the roof.

    Also Consider

For a bigger room, the Harvia PRO 20 range covers larger volumes. For a smaller room or a lower budget, the Harvia M3 is the classic box stove at 16.5 kW. If your walls rule out the exterior feed, ask us about the standard Legend 150.

    Why buy this from RecovAthlete

Exterior-feed stoves go wrong at the wall opening, not at the stove. Send us your wall construction, its thickness, your room dimensions and where the flue can run, and we will tell you whether the Legend 150 SL fits before you buy it. We stock the protective bedding, the sheath, the pipe cover and the stones alongside it. Call 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, Monday to Friday, or book a call. Financing is available at checkout. White glove delivery options available as a paid add-on.

    Questions buyers ask

Can I fit the exterior feed through a timber wall?

No. Harvia specifies an opening in a concrete or brick wall, minimum 220 mm wide and 390 mm up from the floor, through a wall no thicker than 150 mm. A timber-framed wall is not an approved installation for the feed tunnel.

Is it UL or ETL listed?

No. No North American listing is published for this stove and no CE or EAC mark is published for it either. It is tested to EN 15821:2010 through VTT in Finland. Some jurisdictions require a North American listing on a solid fuel appliance, so check locally before you commit.

    What stones does it take?

264 lbs of 10 to 15 cm split-face stone, which is six 44 lb boxes of Harvia AC3020. Rinse the dust off before stacking and stack loosely so air can move. Harvia is explicit that the published safety distances only hold if the stones are stacked to its instructions.

Can it sit on a wooden floor?

Not directly. The floor must be non-combustible with adequate load-bearing capacity. A concrete slab of 60 mm or more is fine as it is. A wooden or tiled floor needs the WL100 protective bedding.

Does a protective sheath reduce the clearances?

Harvia offers the WL200 sheath and the WL300 smoke pipe cover as options for the Legend, but unlike the PRO range it publishes no reduced clearance table for the sheathed configuration. Until Harvia states one, plan on the full distances.

Which way does the door open?

Either. The fire chamber door hinge is reversible, so it can be installed to open to the left or the right to suit your layout.
