You decide to use the sauna at 6pm and it is ready when you get home. That is the whole point of the Harvia Fenix. It is a 4.3 inch glass touchscreen that replaces the button-and-dial box on the wall, and it runs your sauna heater, lights and fan from your phone through the MyHarvia app. WiFi is built in on every unit, so there is no add-on module to buy. Four versions cover most Harvia electric heaters, and which one you need depends on your heater's output, your voltage, and whether it makes steam.
RecovAthlete is an authorized dealer for Harvia. All orders include factory warranty and direct manufacturer support.
Older sauna controls hold a temperature for a set time, so you still walk out, press the button and come back in 45 minutes. Fenix learns how fast your room heats and works backwards from the time you want it ready. Three presets ship with it, Mild, Cozy and Hot, and you can edit them. The screen is rated for heat and moisture, so it can sit inside the sauna room.
A Fenix will not run every Harvia heater, and the limit that catches people is 240V single phase, which is what most US homes have. On 240V the FX30 handles 7kW, so an 8kW or 9kW heater needs the FX45. The combi versions are separate again: FX30C runs Virta Combi heaters only, and a standard FX30 or FX45 will not control the steam side. Call us with the label off your heater before you order.
You will not find this control cheaper anywhere legitimate. Harvia sets a minimum advertised price on the Fenix line and enforces it, so every authorized dealer shows the same number. What changes is what comes with the transaction.
The hardware is the same across all four versions. The panel measures 3.4 inches wide, 4.4 inches tall and 1 inch deep at 0.4 lbs, and connects to a separate power unit (10.51 x 2.76 x 14.29 inches) that does the actual switching. Both ship in one box, 8.8 to 9.4 lbs by version. Maximum temperature setting is 194°F and maximum session length is 60 minutes.
The power unit is hardwired outside the sauna room and needs a licensed electrician. The panel goes inside, surface mounted or recessed, on the supplied 16.4 ft cable. Setup runs through an on-screen wizard with QR pairing and firmware updates arrive over the air. If your heater draws more than the control's rating, a Harvia LTY45 power extension unit raises the ceiling rather than forcing a bigger control.
| What you get | The feature behind it |
|---|---|
| The sauna is at temperature when you walk in, without you guessing the head start. | Smart timer that learns your room's heating curve and adjusts as the seasons change. |
| Start it from the office, the car, or bed. | WiFi built into every unit, controlled through the MyHarvia app or the MyHarvia WebPortal. |
| Two people can have their own settings without resetting anything. | Three presets (Mild, Cozy, Hot), all editable, plus custom presets you name yourself. |
| The screen goes where it suits the room, not where the wiring forces it. | Heat and moisture rated panel, surface mounted or recessed, and it can sit inside the sauna. |
| Lights and fan run from the same screen as the heat. | Integrated control of heater, lighting and ventilation on one unit. |
| Heat and steam adjust separately on a combi sauna. | FX30C versions control the steamer independently, up to 2.1kW of steamer output. |
| It gets new features without you touching it. | Over the air firmware updates once the panel is on your WiFi. |
Have three things ready: your heater's model number, its kW rating, and your supply voltage and phase. The box holds the control panel, power unit, panel cable, screws and manual, plus a humidity sensor on the combi versions. Harvia lists a temperature sensor with the FX45 and both FX30C versions but not with the FX30. We are checking that with Harvia rather than guessing, so ask us before ordering an FX30 if sensor supply matters. If your heater came with its own sensor, install it the way the heater manual says.
Xenio is the previous generation and RecovAthlete still stocks it. The Harvia Xenio digital control uses a small button-and-display panel and covers the same heater families. Fenix replaces that with a touchscreen, adds the learning timer, and builds WiFi into every unit instead of treating it as an upgrade. If you already own a Xenio and only want the app and the screen, you do not need a whole new system: the Fenix panel on its own is a plug and play swap for a Xenio panel.
A sauna you have to plan around gets used less. The gap between deciding and sitting down is what kills the habit, and closing it changes how often the room gets used.
Not sure whether your heater takes an FX30 or an FX45? Call 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, Monday to Friday, read us the heater label and we will confirm the control before you order.

Harvia lists the FX30 for Club, Spirit, Cilindro and Virta series heaters, and the FX45 for those plus Virta Pro. The FX30C versions are for Virta Combi heaters only. Fenix controls do not run wood burning stoves, and heaters that already have controls built into the unit do not take an external control. Harvia does not publish compatibility with other brands. If you are unsure, call 866-861-6317 with your heater's model number.
Output ceiling only. On 240V single phase the FX30 handles up to 7kW and the FX45 up to 10.8kW. On 208V three phase the figures are 10.5kW and 15kW. Panel, screen and app are identical. If your heater is 8kW or larger on 240V, you need the FX45.
No. WiFi is built into every Fenix control. The older Xenio line treated it as a separate add-on.
Yes. Harvia rates the panel for heat and moisture and states it can be installed inside the sauna room, a bathroom, or a living space. The power unit is separate and mounts outside the sauna room.
If you want the touchscreen and the app on an existing Xenio system, the Fenix panel is sold on its own and Harvia describes it as a plug and play update for Xenio control panels. If your Xenio power unit has failed, or you are changing heaters, a full Fenix control unit is the better route.
Yes. The power unit is hardwired, not plug-in, and should be installed by a licensed electrician to local code. The panel itself mounts on the wall and connects to the power unit with the supplied cable.
Control panel, power unit, panel cable, mounting screws, and the installation and operating manual. The FX30C versions also include a humidity sensor. A temperature sensor ships with every version, including the FX30. Install the sensor supplied with the heater, following the heater manual.
Harvia's LTY45 power extension unit raises the ceiling on Fenix controls, so you can keep the control you want rather than moving up a model. Call us and we will work out which combination is right for your heater.
