Description

Cozy Heat O COZYOTW12 and COZYOTW18: round cage, fire fed from next door

The Cozy Heat O Thru-Wall puts the round stone cage in the sauna and the firebox door in the room behind it. You feed wood and clear ash without stepping into the heat, and the cylindrical cage keeps every stone the same distance from the fire so the steam stays even. The COZYOTW12 heats a home sauna room of 210 to 423 cu ft and the COZYOTW18 covers 317 to 635 cu ft. Both are wood burning sauna heaters that install through a masonry wall with no power and no wiring, and the only routine jobs are emptying the ash box and restacking the stones once per year. Stones and chimney are used with the stove and both are sold separately.

✓ RecovAthlete is an authorized Cozy Heat dealer. Orders include the factory warranty and direct manufacturer support.

The Promise

Two problems solved at once. Compared against an angular cage, the round one has no cold corners where the outer rock never heats. The wall mount then deals with the wood, the bark and the ash. Neither costs the owner any stone: 243 lb on the COZYOTW12, 353 lb on the COZYOTW18.

IMPORTANT: THE WALL HAS TO BE MASONRY, AND NO MORE THAN 5.9 IN THICK

The Thru-Wall models install into an opening in a concrete or brick wall. A standard timber stud wall will not do. Maximum wall thickness is 5.9 in, the opening must be at least 10.0 in wide, and the bottom of the opening must sit at least 17.3 in above the floor. Measure before you order. These stoves are CE marked under Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 EU and tested to EN 15821:2010 by TUV SUD, notified body 0036, but there is no UL, ETL or CSA listing, so confirm with your building department and your insurer. Lead time is 60 days from Estonia on LTL freight. If either the wall or the permit is a problem, buy the Cozy Heat O and load it from inside the room.

Why Buy This From RecovAthlete

You can find a cheaper wood sauna stove. You cannot buy this one cheaper: Cozy Heat sets the price and every dealer holds it. What changes is what comes with the order.

  • We check the wall first. Thickness, opening size and height off the floor, before the order goes in. On a 60 day lead time from Estonia that call is the one that saves the order.
  • Authorized dealer, so the 24 month factory warranty is valid and Cozy Heat supports the stove directly.
  • White glove delivery is available as a paid add-on. The crew brings it into the room you want instead of leaving 181 lb of stove at the curb.
  • Financing through Affirm, Brickhouse, Reliant and Acorn.
  • Multi-unit pricing, consolidated freight, and a person on the phone at 866-861-6317.

The specs back that up. The COZYOTW18 runs at 81.3% overall efficiency with a flue gas temperature of 234 °C / 453 °F. The COZYOTW12 runs at 73.9%. Dust emission is 22 mg/m³ and 35 mg/m³. Both burn wood logs only, up to 30 cm / 11.8 in, loaded on the grate at the back of the chamber rather than in the extension. Both are black steel with a 114 mm / 4.49 in flue that exits from the top.

The wall decides this one, and the numbers are in the callout above. The extension pushes the stove depth to 24.8 to 26.4 in on the COZYOTW12 and 28.9 to 30.7 in on the COZYOTW18. Inside the sauna, clearances match the standard model: 6.7 in to the sides on the 12 kW and 9.1 in on the 18 kW, with 44.5 in of headroom above the COZYOTW12 and 52.8 in above the COZYOTW18. Nothing is hardwired. Empty the ash box each session and restack the stones once per year.

Best For

  • Small rooms where a round shape reads better and there is a masonry wall behind.
  • Owners who run long sessions and refuel without opening the sauna door.
  • Anyone who wants even heat off the rock rather than hot spots.

Not Ideal For

  • Anyone whose inspector or insurer requires a UL, ETL or CSA listed appliance.
  • Timber stud walls. The opening has to be concrete or brick, 5.9 in thick at most.
  • Freestanding saunas with no adjacent room. Buy the standard Cozy Heat O.
  • Rooms under 210 cu ft. Even the COZYOTW12 will overheat them.

Who Buys the Cozy Heat O Thru-Wall

  • The small room owner with a wall behind. Round cage, no firebox door in the room, no wood on the floor.
  • The long session bather. Feed the fire from outside without dropping the room temperature.
  • The buyer replacing a tray-top stove. They want rock on all sides and none of the mess.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Measure the wall first. You need a concrete or brick wall no more than 5.9 in thick, with an opening at least 10.0 in wide and at least 17.3 in up from the floor. Allow 23.6 in of clearance from the sides of the opening and 37.8 in above it. The hearth frame is not included on Thru-Wall models. Stones are not included either: 243 lb for the COZYOTW12 or 353 lb for the COZYOTW18, which is 5 boxes on the 12 kW or 7 boxes on the 18 kW, in peridotite, olivine-dolerite or olivine. Cozy Heat publishes three different stone size ranges, so confirm the fraction with us first. The chimney is separate and connects with a 114 mm / 4.49 in pipe from the top. Load firewood on the grate at the back of the chamber, not in the extension, and keep logs to 30 cm or under.

O Thru-Wall or the standard O

Same stove, same 243 lb and 353 lb stone loads, same clearances. The Thru-Wall adds a fire chamber extension that pushes the depth out by 5.9 in and adds 18 lb on the 12 kW or 27 lb on the 18 kW, and it drops the hearth frame from the box. The standard Cozy Heat O costs less and goes anywhere. If your wall is timber or thicker than 5.9 in, that is the one to buy. The Cozy Heat Thru-Wall is the angular cage version of this stove.

The standard Cozy Heat O costs less and goes anywhere. If your wall is timber or thicker than 5.9 in, that is the one to buy. The Cozy Heat Thru-Wall is the angular cage version of this stove.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the stones included?

No. The COZYOTW12 needs 243 lb, the COZYOTW18 needs 353 lb. That is 5 boxes on the 12 kW or 7 on the 18 kW, in split-face Traditional or Premium Rounded olivine diabase. Cozy Heat quotes three different size ranges across their own sources, so call us before you order stone.

114 mm / 4.49 in from the top. Minimum flue cross-section 7,850 mm² / 12.2 sq in, draught 12 Pa. No shared flues.

Is it UL or ETL listed?

No. It is CE marked under CPR 305/2011 EU and tested to EN 15821:2010 by TUV SUD, notified body 0036. Those are European standards. There is no North American listing. Check your local requirements first.

How long does delivery take?

24 months from purchase against manufacturing defects, proof of purchase required. It excludes metal deformation, surface coating and door glass.

44.5 in from the top of the COZYOTW12 to the ceiling, and 52.8 in above the COZYOTW18.

What kind of wall do I need?

Pick by room volume, not by how much heat you want. Non-insulated brick, glass, tile or concrete adds to the load: count an extra 1.2 m³ per square metre. Massive log walls multiply the volume by 1.5.

What size chimney pipe does it take?

114 mm / 4.49 in from the top. Minimum flue cross-section 7,850 mm² / 12.2 sq in, draught 12 Pa. No shared flues.

Is it UL or ETL listed?

No. It is CE marked under CPR 305/2011 EU and tested to EN 15821:2010 by TUV SUD, notified body 0036. Those are European standards. There is no North American listing. Check your local requirements first.

How long does delivery take?

Lead time is 60 days. The stoves are built in Estonia and ship by LTL freight.

What is the warranty?

24 months from purchase against manufacturing defects, proof of purchase required. It excludes metal deformation, surface coating and door glass.

How much room do I need above the stove?

44.5 in from the top of the COZYOTW12 to the ceiling, and 52.8 in above the COZYOTW18.

What kind of wall do I need?

Concrete or brick, 5.9 in thick at most. A timber stud wall will not work. The opening needs to be at least 10.0 in wide on the 12 kW or 12.4 in on the 18 kW, sitting at least 17.3 in or 18.5 in above the floor, with 23.6 in clear at the sides and 37.8 in above.

What else should I know before installing?

The hearth frame is not included on Thru-Wall models. Logs go to 30 cm / 11.8 in maximum, loaded on the grate at the back of the chamber rather than in the extension.

Why This Is the One to Buy

A round cage gives consistent steam. A wall mount gives a clean room. This version does both and gives up nothing in rock.

Not sure your wall will take it? Call 866-861-6317, 9am to 6pm EST, Monday to Friday, and we will size it against your room before you order.
