The frame is small, but a few checks stop the mistakes that happen after checkout.
1. Confirm the room fit
The wooden frame is 28.7 inches wide by 35.4 inches long, under eight square feet. Allow open space around it to stand beside the chair, step off the pedal, and lie down for supine work. Handles reach 55.5 inches at the tallest setting, so a standard ceiling is fine.
2. Choose the color before you order
The chair comes in eight upholstery colors. Anthracite Grey is standard, and the other seven are selected as a custom color at order. Pick the color before ordering, because the chair is then built to that choice.
3. Know the made-to-order terms
Made to order, non-returnable
Each chair is built in the color you pick. BASI made-to-order equipment cannot be returned for change of mind. Confirm fit and color before ordering.
4. Plan how it lives between sessions
The chair is meant to stay assembled. Silicon wheels let one person roll it against a wall between clients.
5. Set up after delivery
The chair ships assembled with all four springs attached. Setup is fitting the two handles: slide each handle into the pole base and tighten the knob. No tools are needed for the handles or for splitting the pedal.
6. Plan delivery
The chair ships by freight. A paid white glove option can place it in the room. Shipping and Warranty has the detail.

The BASI Systems Wunda Chair is a split-pedal Pilates chair for instructors, clinicians and advanced home practitioners. Model M BSE 117 01. Each pedal half works independently, so you can load left and right on their own. It adds standing, seated and single-leg work in under eight square feet.

Split pedalPull the metal ring and lift out the rod, and the two pedal halves separate. Slide it back to rejoin them.
Spring railSlide the stopper to change resistance without detaching springs, so class pacing holds. Take one or both springs off for the lightest loads.

Choosing
What makes the split pedal different from a classic Wunda chair?
A classic Wunda chair has one pedal that moves as a single unit. On this chair, pulling a metal ring releases a rod and each pedal half moves on its own. That allows single-leg and single-arm loading and side-to-side comparison. Slide the rod back in and the pedals move together again.
What is the F2 System and do I need it now?
The F2 System is BASI's adjustable spring attachment. It adds finer control over spring angle and resistance and is sold separately. You do not need it on day one. The chair arrives with prepared ports, so the upgrade fits later without replacing the frame.
What is the BASI Wunda Chair good for?
Standing balance, single-leg loading and upper-body pressing that a reformer alone does not cover. Instructors use it for core, stability and strength work, and clinics use the independent pedals for single-side loading. It complements a reformer rather than replacing one.
Is the Wunda chair harder than a reformer?
Chair work is loaded and unsupported, so many practitioners find it more demanding than the same movement on a reformer. That is why it suits taught studio and clinic settings. Most rooms run the chair and a reformer together.

What do the spring colors mean?
The chair ships with four springs, two yellow and two black. BASI does not label one color as a fixed weight, so use the combination your repertoire calls for. Add or remove springs for lighter or heavier loads.
How many spring settings does it have?
Each pedal rail has four tension settings. Slide the stopper along the rail to step the load up or down between exercises. You never unhook a spring to change it.
How many handle positions are there?
The handles adjust to five height positions across the 46.3 to 55.5 inch range and lock in the base. That covers seated, kneeling and standing work for clients of different heights.
Ownership
Can I return it if it does not suit my room?
No, a made-to-order chair cannot be returned once your color is set. Warranty support still applies. Confirm fit and color first. Shipping and Warranty has the policy.
What maintenance does BASI require?
Inspect the springs weekly for gaps or kinks and replace any you find. BASI recommends replacing all springs after two years of use. Tighten nuts, bolts and screws monthly. Clean the upholstery with warm water and soap.
How much does the BASI Wunda Chair cost?

BASI Systems equipment is made to order. Your delivery window starts the day your order is confirmed and payment clears, not the day it ships. All orders ship standard curbside freight.

Express shipping is not available. Because each piece is made to order, production time cannot be shortened by paying more for freight. Anthracite Grey at 6 to 8 weeks is the fastest route. Shipping Cost
Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout based on your order value and destination. Nothing is added after checkout. For volume or studio fit-out orders, contact us and we will consolidate the freight booking, which usually costs less than separate shipments. International orders ship by quote, with duties and customs handled separately.
Standard Curbside Delivery
Standard curbside delivery means the carrier brings your equipment as close to your dwelling as possible, provided there are no obstacles at the time of delivery. The driver does not bring the equipment inside, up stairs, or into a specific room.
- Have two people available to move the crate from the curb.
- Measure your doorways, hallways, elevator, and stairwell before delivery day.
- Inspect the crate for damage and note it on the delivery receipt before you sign.
- Someone over 18 must be present to sign for the shipment.
Inside delivery and white glove delivery are available as paid add-ons and require special quoting, since cost depends on your address, access, and the piece you bought. Contact us for a quote before you place your order so the cost can be added at the start.
Recyclable Packaging
BASI Systems equipment ships in a recyclable honeycomb cardboard container that can be flattened for storage. Sustainable materials are part of how BASI builds and packs its equipment.
