Where HealthSmart fits in the market

HealthSmart occupies the mid-range of the home infrared sauna market — positioned above entry-level brands like Dynamic Saunas on features and finish quality, and below premium full-spectrum brands like Medical Saunas on heating technology and clinical specification depth.

Their target buyer is a home user who wants far infrared therapy with quality-of-life features — chromotherapy lighting, digital control panels, Bluetooth audio — without the complexity or investment of full-spectrum medical-grade equipment. This is a legitimate and well-populated buyer category, and HealthSmart serves it consistently.

Build quality and materials

HealthSmart saunas use Canadian hemlock construction — the same wood used by Dynamic and most mid-range infrared sauna brands. Hemlock is well-suited to infrared sauna interiors: lower aromatic oils than cedar (important for buyers with sensitivities), tight grain that heats evenly, and a clean light aesthetic.

The panel joinery and hardware quality on HealthSmart units is a step above entry-level brands. Tongue-and-groove panel connections are snug, hinges and door latches are solid, and the overall assembly experience is clean. HealthSmart saunas do not feel like furniture flat-packs. That said, they do not feel like Medical Saunas either — there is a perceptible gap in material weight and finish detail at the high end of the market.

Heating performance: far infrared carbon panels

HealthSmart uses carbon panel far infrared heaters — the same technology used across most of the mid-range market. Carbon panels distribute heat more evenly across the sauna cabin surface than the ceramic rod heaters used in older designs.

Heat-up times to operating temperature (110–130°F) are typically 15–20 minutes for 2-person units. The sauna reaches comfortable session temperature before the panel reaches maximum output, which means most users can begin their session 10–12 minutes after startup rather than waiting for full temperature.

What HealthSmart does not offer: full spectrum infrared. Their heaters produce far infrared only — the wavelength range associated with core temperature elevation, detoxification, and cardiovascular conditioning. Near infrared (for collagen production, cellular energy) and mid infrared (for deeper tissue circulation) require a full spectrum system like Medical Saunas. If full-spectrum protocols are a goal, HealthSmart is not the right fit.

Features worth noting

• Chromotherapy lighting: LED chromotherapy is standard across most HealthSmart models — a genuine addition that most users find worthwhile for session atmosphere.
• Bluetooth audio: Built-in speakers with Bluetooth pairing. Sound quality is adequate for background music but not audiophile-grade — which is appropriate for the use case.
• Digital control panel: Interior and exterior digital controls for temperature, timer, and lighting. Easy to operate, reliable in use.
• Low EMF: HealthSmart publishes EMF measurements for their heater panels. At standard operating distances, readings are within accepted wellness ranges.
