Macy-Pan HP2202 FAQ
What is the HP2202 and who is it built for?
The HP2202 is a hard-shell, single-occupant hyperbaric chamber operating at 2.0 ATA, the clinical pressure level where most HBOT research is run. It fits chiropractic clinics, medspas, recovery centers, pro athletes, and serious home biohackers who have outgrown soft-shell chambers. Three diameters (30", 33", 35") match room and client size.
What is the real difference between 1.5 ATA and 2.0 ATA?
At 2.0 ATA you are breathing oxygen at double atmospheric pressure, equivalent to 33 feet underwater. That delivers more dissolved oxygen per session than 1.5 ATA soft-shell chambers. For wellness and light recovery, 1.5 ATA is usually enough. For clinical protocols or athletes running daily recovery blocks, 2.0 ATA is where the bigger performance gains show up.
Is the HP2202 FDA-cleared?
No. The HP2202 is CE-certified, ISO 13485-compliant, ISO 9001-compliant, and SGS-certified, but it is not FDA-cleared for medical use in the United States. It is sold for wellness, research, and recovery use. If your clinic needs 510(k) clearance for insurance billing or institutional procurement, ask us about FDA-cleared alternatives. Consult your physician before starting any HBOT protocol.
Which chamber size should I choose, 75, 85, or 90?
The numbers refer to interior diameter in centimeters. HP2202-75 (30") fits most home users and compact clinic rooms. HP2202-85 (33") is the middle tier, comfortable for larger clients and medspa setups. HP2202-90 (35") is the largest, with room for an adult plus a child, and stronger positioning for upscale recovery centers. Taller clients and those with mobility considerations should look at the 33" or 35" models.
How long is a typical session and how often can I use it?
Most HP2202 protocols run 60 to 90 minutes per session. The built-in timer allows up to 120 minutes. For clinical use, 5 sessions per week is standard. For home use, 3 to 5 sessions per week is typical. Your physician should guide protocol design based on goals and medical history.
Can I operate the HP2202 alone, or do I need an attendant?
It is designed for solo operation. Dual internal and external control panels let you start, monitor, and stop sessions from inside or outside the chamber. The digital display shows pressure, oxygen purity, humidity, and temperature in real time. A two-way intercom supports attendant-supervised sessions for clinical settings.
What will I feel during a session?
During pressurization (the first 10 to 15 minutes) you will feel ear pressure similar to an aircraft takeoff. Use the Valsalva maneuver, yawn, or swallow to equalize. Once at pressure, most users read, nap, or meditate. Depressurization reverses ear pressure gradually. First-time users occasionally report mild fatigue for 15 to 30 minutes after sessions, which fades as the body adapts.
What are the room and power requirements?
You need a minimum 90 x 40 in footprint for the largest HP2202-90 plus 24 in clearance on the entry side for the sliding door. The all-in-one unit adds another 30 x 18 in footprint and should sit within 6 feet of the chamber. Power is 110 to 240V depending on region, 1800 W combined system draw. Most clinics run it on a dedicated 15A circuit.
Can the HP2202 be used commercially for cash-pay services?
Yes, it is the most common HP2202 use case. Chiropractors, medspas, and recovery centers run per-session cash-pay HBOT and the chamber holds up to daily use for years. Note that cash-pay HBOT is wellness-framed, not medical. Review state licensing and scope-of-practice rules before launching a service line.
How does the HP2202 compare to the HP2202-90 Diamond?
Same chamber engineering, same 2.0 ATA performance. The HP2202-90 Diamond adds a premium exterior paint finish and upscale interior trim, positioned for clinics where the chamber is a visible brand asset. If the chamber sits in a back room, the standard HP2202 delivers identical results for less.
What is the expected service life?
Chamber structure is rated for 8,000+ hours of use, roughly 8 years of commercial daily operation. Air compressor: 10,000+ hours. Oxygen concentrator: 5,000+ hours. Every HP2202 undergoes accelerated life testing before leaving the factory. Detailed component lifespan and maintenance guidance lives in the Shipping and Warranty tab.
