Both machine families run the same STOTT PILATES® spring system and rope carriage mechanics. The difference is frame architecture and upgrade path. The SPX series uses a standard aluminum box frame — solid, well-proven, and appropriate for both studio and home use. The V2 Max moves to a full-length extruded aluminum rail, which gives the carriage longer travel, a smoother glide, and the ability to convert to a full Cadillac trapeze table later. If adding a trapeze tower is part of your plan, start with a V2 Max. If it is not, the SPX Max handles all standard reformer programming and costs less.

The At Home SPX is designed for a single user in a home setting — one to two sessions per day at most. The commercial SPX Max and V2 Max are built for back-to-back multi-client load across a full studio workday. Space Requirements Before You Order

Most Merrithew reformers need a clear floor footprint of at least 8 feet long by 3 feet wide. Add 18 inches on each side for side-lying work. For standing platform exercises, ceiling height should be at least 105 inches (8 feet 9 inches) for a user who is 5'8". Cadillac setups have higher ceiling requirements. What Delivery Actually Looks Like

1. Freight carrier calls to schedule. You get a window — usually a 4-hour block. Someone needs to be present.
2. Pallet or crate arrives at your threshold. Standard delivery is ground-floor entrance. The driver does not bring it inside. If you need upstairs or room-of-choice delivery, tell us before you order — we confirm what is available for your location.
3. Inspect before signing. Check for visible damage on the packaging. Note anything on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. This protects your warranty claim if something is wrong.
